Just released! The Call for Applications for the 10th Americas Competitiveness Exchange is Open!

The Inter-American Competitiveness Network (RIAC) announced to the countries of the Americas that the Call for Applications to participate in the 10th Edition of the Americas Competitiveness Exchange (ACE) is officially open. The program will take place from October 21 to 27, 2018 in North California, including visits to San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Salinas, Fresno, Sacramento, and Davis. Selected participants will have the opportunity to explore potential partnerships with universities, private sector partners, state and local governments, and non-profits.

The program will select 50 decision makers from across the Americas and beyond for a six-day tour showcasing key Northern California destinations that are helping to move the success that is Silicon Valley’s Innovation and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem across the Golden State. For example, in San Francisco, the participants will visit one of the world’s best incubators, QB3/MBCBiolabs at the University of California, San Francisco and in Silicon Valley they will visit the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Ames Research Center. Featured sites on the tour will target the following clusters: biotechnology and information technology, aeronautics, life sciences, water, agriculture, and workforce.

This high-level program invites authorities and key decision makers from the public, private and academic sectors, including Ministers/Vice Ministers (of Economy, Industry, Trade, SME, Science and Technology); Ambassadors, Mayors, Members of Congress/Legislature/Parliament; Private Sector and Local Government Leaders from cities/regions; Chancellors/Presidents/Vice Presidents of Universities; Presidents of Competitiveness Councils, Senior Leaders of Regional Economic Development, Small Business Development Center Leaders; and Top Entrepreneurs and societal influencers, among others.

 The 10th ACE is convened by the Organization of American States (OAS) as the Inter-American Competitiveness Network (RIAC) Technical Secretariat; the Government of the United States, through the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of State, and the Government of Argentina, through its Ministry of Production, as Chair Pro Tempore of RIAC (September 2017-2019).
